The concept of swapping (collector view only)

Swapping is divided in 2 complementary concepts:
  • consolidation (consolidate)
  • alignment (align)

  • Consolidation consists of selecting various coins and summing them up to receive full coins a specific coin type in return. The easiest example to demonstrate this capability is when exchanging coins of different denomination for a single type of coin, like exchanging 20 iZ worth of a coin A, 30 iZ worth of a coin B and 50 iZ worth of a coin C for a sum of 100 iZ consolidated for 1 mZ, worth 100 iZ. Consolidation can only be done against complete ownership coins (amount of 100%). This is a great way to get full ownership coins of any types for keeping them as is, or for stamping or minting purpose which can only be done on fully owned coins.

Alignment consists of selecting various coins and summing them up for other coins of one specific type by maximizing the number of coins received of that type or by maximizing the coins ownership but not necessarily by being complete ownership coins. It is then possible for a user to exchange various coins for a multitude of one specific type of coin. This helps in expanding a collection when focusing on a certain type of coin as it enables coin bits of a coin type to be received.

Both these operations are handled by the Vault at no cost.
